French Fridays with Dorie: Lemon Barley Pilaf

It’s Friday again! And that means that its French Fridays with Dorie the online cooking club that I belong to. This week we made Lemon Barley Pilaf. I have to be honest, I’ve never really eaten barley before…it has an interesting texture that I’m not quite sure about but, Pierce happens to love it! I don’t even think he noticed the “vegetables” that he mostly has us pick out except for broccoli! I will be serving mine tonight with Salmon and Tomatoes en Papillote (pg. 302) from Dorie’s cookbook.

  • Your dish looks wonderful. This is perfect for a salmon entree. Tricia and I were
    not exactly excited with the recipe, I think it could use more flavor. I used the
    leftovers in broth and enjoyed it that way. Have a great weekend.

  • I think your Pilaf looks delicious and will be an excellent addtion to your salmon entree (which I haven’t yet made). I had never cooked with Barley either, except for Barley soup, so this was a nice intro to this lentil. I went cold since we are experiencing 110 degree temps here.
