French Fridays with Dorie: Herb-Speckled Spaetzle
When I looked online this week to see what we were making for this weeks online cooking club, I was excited to see Spaetzle! I always wanted to make it and never saw a recipe that interested me. Spaetzle is a chewy, baby-size pasta, that comes from Alsace. The only time I’ve ever eaten it was when I was visiting my sister in Germany…but I still remember how good it was!
I didn’t have a flat grater, so I used a slotted spoon to push my small batches of dough through to create the Spaetzle. It was a daunting job and not to enjoyable, so the next time I see Spaetzle on the menu at a restaurant, I’m ordering it…because I don’t think I will make it again! I have to say ~ it was tasty!
